More expensive groceries push inflation to 8% Related articles

According to a flash estimate from Statistics Netherlands (CBS), inflation rose to 8.0% in February. Estimates from Statistics Netherlands show that, among other things, food prices rose further in February, while energy costs fell. Services and industrial goods have also become more expensive in the last month.

Inflation fell to 7.6 percent year on year in January from 9.6 percent in December. In November, consumer goods and services were still 9.9% more expensive than twelve months earlier. At its peak in September, inflation was still 14.5%.

This quick estimate is based on incomplete source data and is subject to change. Regular Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures will be released on March 14.
