The energy ministers of the EU member states met in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, which is the mandate of the president.
During the meeting, the ministers of France, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia issued a joint statement that they would strengthen cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
In the statement, it was stated that research in the field of nuclear energy, the exchange of know-how, the establishment of common standards, the development of cooperation in the nuclear industry and the increase of Europe’s nuclear capacity are important objectives. of the common energy policy.
Noting that the ministers agreed to foster closer cooperation between the national nuclear sectors, supply chains, training programs, new projects and the operation of existing power plants, it was noted that nuclear power occupies an important place in the achievement of climate objectives, the generation of electricity and security of energy supply.
Countries like Germany, Spain, Austria and Luxembourg do not come close to the nuclear cooperation initiative of 11 countries led by France. (AA)
