The year 2022 has become a year in which we have had to navigate turbulent and rapidly changing circumstances. Global macroeconomic and geopolitical conditions have been extremely challenging, with record inflation and consumer confidence at historic lows. This had an effect on our results,’ explains CEO Herna Verhagen. “The challenging conditions are expected to continue into 2023. It is therefore crucial that we continue to invest to strengthen our foundation and strengthen our position in a dynamic and highly competitive market.”

20 million

In total, these are cost savings of 20 million euros in 2023, reports PostNL. The cuts mainly affect the parcel department. Another 25 million euros will be saved in 2024 and 30 million euros annually from 2025.

PostNL will announce last year’s results on Monday. In the third quarter, the company suffered another loss. Due to high inflation, online shopping has decreased and this has affected parcel delivery. PostNL previously said it expects a strong fourth quarter due to the holidays.
