Construction industry ‘fixed price’ commitment for earthquake zone

TOBB President: Prices of construction materials will be set in the earthquake zone

Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu announced that representatives of the sector, which produces the construction materials expected to be used in houses to be built in 11 affected provinces because of the earthquakes, they have made a decision. not “increase prices”.

“In the earthquake disaster, professional organizations, NGOs and the private sector showed exemplary solidarity. Now, we have made a joint decision with the manufacturers,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said, adding: “As long as there is no increase in input costs, the prices of building material products are fixed in 11 earthquake-affected provinces.” .

SECTORS COMMITTED TO PRICING

Making a statement on his social media account, Hisarcıklıoğlu gave the message “Unity Day”.

The sectors and their representatives that have agreed to set the price are the following:

“Cement Industry Council Chairman Fatih Yücelik, Chemical Industry Council Chairman Timur Erk, Mining Council Chairman İbrahim Halil Kırşan, Soil Industry Products Council Chairman Kadir Başoğlu, the vice president of the Ceramic Industry Council. and the President of the Turkish Ceramic Federation, Erdem Çenesiz, Member of the Air Conditioning Council and President of the Air Conditioning Industry Exporters Union, Mehmet Şanal, Member of the Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Council, Ayhan İleri, President of the Association of Construction Materials Manufacturers, Tayfun Küçükoğlu”.
