Lifting crane prices increased 10 times in the earthquake region

Earthquake survivors, who want to get their belongings out of their damaged buildings in the earthquake zone, pay exorbitant prices for hoisting cranes and transportation works.

IYI Denizli Party MP Yasin Öztürk together with his party’s Denizli Provincial Chairman Özer Tunçtürk met with citizens who want to evacuate their homes in the earthquake-affected neighborhoods in Adiyaman.

Öztürk stated that earthquake survivors who want to salvage their belongings in their quake-damaged houses are paid exorbitant prices for forklifts and transportation. Öztürk drew attention to opportunists; “This problem must be addressed,” he said.

TRANSPORT FROM 5-6 THOUSAND LIRA INCREASE TO 25-30 THOUSAND LIRA

Addressing the government with a video he prepared, Öztürk said:

“People are trying to salvage their belongings from moderately damaged and heavily damaged apartments in Adiyaman.

While you are rescuing your belongings, you have to keep transporting them with the help of forklifts of course. But the prices of lifting cranes, which were between 600 and 900 lira before the earthquake, have reached 5-6 thousand today. The requested fees for the transportation of 5-6 thousand lire were 25-30 thousand.

The prices are unstoppable. That is not opportunistic. Additional companies may have come, especially from nearby regions, but the state should monitor this.

Our people have already barely saved their lives, now they want to save their property, but giving these prices in such an environment while saving their property is nothing more than looting.”

RENTS ALSO RISE BY 25-100 PERCENT

On the other hand, a similar opportunism was observed in rental prices.

With the beginning of the migration of earthquake victims to the surrounding provinces, some provinces experienced rent increases in the range of 25 to 100 percent.

While there are landlords and real estate agents who do not receive commissions from those affected by the earthquake and even install them for free, some opportunistic real estate agents have increased the prices of rental flats in the surrounding provinces between 25 and 57 percent; In some cities, this rate reached 100 percent.
