United Kamu-İş: the hunger limit exceeded 10 thousand TL in February

United Kamu-Is has released the February 2023 Hunger and Poverty Survey.

Consequently, the hunger limit, which covers kitchen purchases for a family of four, increased by 463 lira compared to the previous month and reached TL 10,259 in February.

While the poverty line, which covers all a family’s expenses such as monthly rent, transportation, bills, education, health, and clothing, reached TL 26,994 in February; Again, the amount of expenditure required for a family of four to meet its non-food needs “without feeling deprived” increased to TL 18,304, up from TL 1,106 in February.

THE POVERTY LIMIT INCREASES 12,243 TL IN ONE YEAR

In a written statement by United Kamu-İş, it was stated that compared to a year ago, the hunger limit increased by 5,122 lira and the expenditure for non-food needs increased by 7,121 lira.

The poverty line has increased by 12,243 lire in the last year.

EXPENDITURE ON MEAT-FISH-EGG INCREASES 253 TL IN ONE MONTH

According to the prices collected from the most commercial markets in Ankara, the monthly amount of money to spend on meat, fish and eggs for a balanced diet has increased by 253 lira compared to the previous month and by 1,290 lira compared to the same month. of 2022 and reached 2 thousand 634 liras.

Required spending on pulses increased by 7 lira from the previous month, and by 103 lira from the same month last year, to 241 lira.

182 TL IN ONE MONTH IN VEGETABLE PURCHASES

The required spending for milk, yogurt and cheese increased by 72 lira to 2,744 lira in February compared to the previous month. In the last one-year period, there was an increase of 1,672 lira.

While the amount to be spent on fruit decreased by 104 lira in February, it increased by 139 lira compared to the same month of the previous year and became 576 lira.

Vegetable expenses increased by 182 lira compared to the previous month and increased by 773 lira compared to the same month of the previous year and became 1,449 lira.
