The stock market started the week with a rise.
The bank index increased 0.62 percent and the holding index increased 0.43 percent. Among the sector indices, stone and soil were the ones that gained the most with 3.27 percent, and metallurgy and machinery were the ones that lost the most with 0.34 percent.
After trading a choppy course on Friday, the BIST 100 Index closed the day up 0.36 percent at 5,026.83 points.
INCREASE OF 11.57 PERCENT IN THREE DAYS
After being closed for 5 business days due to the earthquake, Borsa Istanbul opened with measures on Wednesday, February 15 and the BIST 100 index rose to 5,026.83 points with gains of 11.57 percent in transactions in the last three days of the week.
Analysts said volatility in global stock markets continued as data releases around the world and verbal guidance from central bank officials raised concerns that aggressive monetary policies would continue.
The analysts stated that the news flow about the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and the reflections of the measures taken will continue to be monitored at the national level, stating that volatility in the markets may continue in this period when sensitivity to data is high.
Analysts pointed out that today’s data agenda includes the consumer confidence index in the country, the Producer Price Index in Germany and the consumer confidence index in the Euro Zone. (AA)
