EU to prepare new sanctions against Russia

The European Union (EU) announced the tenth package of 11 billion euro sanctions against Russia, which includes new trade bans and restrictions on the export of technology.

Noting that they are preparing a new sanctions package to increase pressure on Russia, Von der Leyen said: “We offer Russia the 10th sanctions package, which includes new trade bans and technology export controls.” he used the phrase.

TOTAL VALUE 11 BILLION EUROS

Noting that the total value of the new sanctions package is 11 billion euros, von der Leyen claimed that the package includes restrictions on the export of electronic components used in Russian weapons systems, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). , missiles and helicopters along with different items.

Von der Leyen recalled that hundreds of Iranian-made UAVs used by Russia have been detected on Ukrainian battlefields, saying: “These Iranian-made drones are killing Ukrainian civilians, and this is cruel.” he made the comment of him.

Von der Leyen claimed that they also offered to impose sanctions on Iranian organizations, including those affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, stressing that they should confront Iran over supplying UAVs and transferring know-how to build production facilities in Russia, and that they would impose sanctions against it.

For the sanctions package proposed by the EU Commission to enter into force, the approval of 27 member states is required. The EU Commission aims for the package to enter into force on February 24, the anniversary of the war. (AA)
