Measures for farmers affected by earthquake announced
The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişci, gave information on the measures taken for farmers in 10 provinces affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş.
In Kirişci’s post; The following information was provided on diesel, fertilizer, livestock and rural development supports and Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) product update applications:
“The subsidies for diesel and fertilizers, which began to be given in kind from 2022, will be paid in cash for our 10 provinces affected by the earthquake. In this context, the supports for diesel and fertilizers, for a total amount of TL 2.8 billion, will be deposited in the accounts of our farmers until the end of February. The product update deadline of February 28 for our producers who applied for production year 2023 ÇKS has been extended to May 8.
The amount of 530 million TL to be paid throughout the year; Payments for Raw Milk Support, Calf Support, Sheep and Goat Breeding Support, Cattle Fattening Support, Beehive Support, Herd Growth and Renewal Support will be withdrawn in February for our 10 provinces and will be deposited in the accounts of our producers. In addition, a total of 1.5 billion TL of food support will be provided to 185,000 companies in 10 provinces, 500 TL per animal for 2 million cattle and 50 TL per animal for 9 million sheep.
For Rural Development Support, the application period for the 2022-2023 period of Agricultural Economic Investments has been extended until May 8 in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake and until February 28 in the rest of the provinces. The evaluation period of Rural Economic Infrastructure Investment projects for the period 2022-2023 has been extended until May 8 in 10 provinces affected by the earthquake and until March 10 in other provinces.
