The first ship loaded with Azeri crude left Ceyhan port after the earthquake

According to the ship tracking system and a trade source, the tanker Nordlotus left port today. While the Alfa Baltica tanker was seen docking at the Botaş Ceyhan oil terminal, the business source claimed that Azeri crude oil was loaded onto this tanker.

After the earthquakes on February 6, which caused extensive damage in Turkey and Syria, activities at Ceyhan Port came to a halt. Crude oil is shipped to the Ceyhan port from northern Iraq and Azerbaijan.

BP ANNOUNCED

A spokesman for British oil giant BP announced that shipments of Azeri crude at Ceyhan resumed on Sunday. The company declared force majeure for Azeri crude shipments in Ceyhan effective February 8.

After the earthquakes at the pipeline where Iraqi crude was transferred to Ceyhan, shipments resumed on February 7, when Iraqi crude was loaded for the first time. (Reuters)
