Insurance tranche for oil tankers transporting petroleum products

The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs will request an insurance confirmation letter from February 6 to ships that transport petroleum products that transit through the strait.

In the written statement made by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, ships carrying petroleum products that are going to pass through the Turkish Straits in a loaded state must receive a letter from the insurance companies stating that the details of the ship, cargo and voyage and that the P&I insurance will be valid and inclusive for this ship, voyage and cargo, and this document must be presented to the Cruise, it was indicated that they should add it to the plan.

At the beginning of December, the institution began to request an additional confirmation letter from oil tankers transiting the strait, demonstrating that their insurance policies are valid for all types of oil transported and for each crossing of the strait.
