Minister Ersoy: The goal of income from tourism in 2028 is 100 billion dollars

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, attended the meeting held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) where 2022 in Tourism was evaluated and the objectives for 2028 were shared.

In his speech, Minister Ersoy announced tourism targets for 2023 and 2028. Stating that Turkey achieved a record tourism revenue in 2022, Ersoy explained his targets in the following words:

“Our goal in 2023 is 60 million tourists, in 2028 90 million tourists. Our goal is to generate 56 billion dollars in tourism in 2023 and 100 billion dollars in 2028. In 2028, the goal is 100 billion dollars”.

INCOME 2022 46.3 BILLION DOLLARS

According to tourism statistics released today, Turkey’s tourism revenue in 2022 increased by 53.4 percent compared to the previous year and reached $46.284.907 billion.

In addition, the number of visitors leaving Turkey increased by 75 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and reached 51,369,026 people. 13.7 percent of these were citizens residing abroad with 7 million 27 thousand 504 people.
