1.5 billion lire to public gardens in 1 month

TOKİ, which paid TL 10.744 million to the national gardens from 2018 to 2023, also made a record payment to the national gardens in January 2023. The total cost of the national gardens, whose contract was signed only in January, was estimated at 1 billion 461 million TL. In January 2023 a contract for the 12-person gardens was signed. The ones with the highest cost were Uşak Center with 212 million 361 thousand TL, Karabük with 194 million 713 thousand TL and the Ankara Sincan national gardens with 171 million 923 thousand TL.
A TOTAL OF 10.7 BILLION VA
The national gardens, which President Erdoğan spoke of when he said “You will go and shoot in the people’s gardens”, became a black hole in the budget. TOKİ conducted nearly 180 tenders for national gardens from 2018 to the end of 2022, including the latest national gardens. The amount paid to the national gardens from 2018 to 2023 was 10 billion 744 million TL. This amount, which comes from the State coffers, is higher than the 2022 budget of 6 ministries, including ministries such as the Ministry of Commerce, Foreign Relations, Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
The highest cost exceeded 2 billion
The cost of the Istanbul Atatürk Airport National Garden alone was 2.174 billion lira. TOKİ also paid TL 2 billion 97 million for the construction of the TRNC Presidency, the Assembly of the Republic, the National Garden, the mosque and the additional facilities and infrastructure arrangements. TOKİ finally signed a contract worth 99 million 999 thousand TL for the Gümüşhane Merkez National Garden on January 23.
