Capacity utilization in the industry decreased in January
The seasonally adjusted capacity utilization rate (KKO-MA) in the manufacturing industry decreased 0.6 points to 75.8 percent in January compared with the previous month.
The Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR) decreased 1.2 points compared to the previous month and went to 75.3 percent.
Thus, KKO has seen its lowest level in the last 19 months. The seasonally adjusted CUR also registered its lowest level in 20 months.
STRONG COMEBACK IN TEXTILE
The fall was more accentuated in the textile sector, which had problems due to the stagnation of foreign markets, the increase in costs and the appreciation of the LT.
The capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of textile products decreased to 69.4 percent in January, a sharp decrease of 1.9 points compared to the previous month. This level was the lowest level in 30 months after the 67.8 percent seen in July 2020 with the effect of the pandemic.
