EYT Statement by Minister Bilgin
Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Bilgin stated that the regulation on the retirement age (EYT) is expected to reach the Grand National Assembly of Turkey this week.
Bilgin responded to journalists’ questions about the EYT deal after the Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Complex.
Asked if the regulation will go to the Assembly this week, Bilgin said: “I assume EYT will go to the Assembly this week. Because they are meeting with deputies in the group. Our group will turn what they talked about into a bill and they will discuss it in commission.”
120-150 BILLION COSTS
“Does anything change in the content?” Bilgin responded to the question: “It doesn’t change.” Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, “What is the cost of EYT?” On the question, he said that there is an estimate between 120-150 billion lira for this year.
Stating that the numbers being talked about the cost of EYT are not correct, Bilgin said: “We have the numbers, we have the tally. I say 150 billion, but I mean the maximum possible. It can vary between 120-150 billion. Because you don’t know how many people will apply.” he said.
STRUCTURING OF PREMIUM ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
In response to a question about the restructuring of premium debts, Minister Bilgin said: “Loans within the scope of EYT are not included in this. Your loan is made entirely in accordance with our meri law. You can’t say: ‘I can’t fill 5,000, 9,000 days of premium or I’m 1,000 days short.’ If you are 1000 days short in the current law, you go to work. There is no such debt, ”he said. (AA)
