According to the data of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), a large number of Russian and Ukrainian companies came to Antalya from the two countries.

After the Russian-Ukrainian war, in addition to rising rental and housing prices and the number of foreign students in schools, the number of companies opened by Russians and Ukrainians increased significantly.

The number of companies opened by Russian investors last year increased by 527 percent and Ukrainians by 155 percent compared to the previous year.

GERMAN AND IRANIAN INVESTORS FOLLOW THE RUSSIAN

ATSO Assembly Chairman Ahmet Öztürk stated that Russians ranked first with 1,061 companies and a 19 percent share among 5,695 registered foreign investors.

“German and Iranian investors are watching the Russians,” Öztürk said.

Öztürk said: “There were 1,244 companies with foreign partners established in 2022 alone,” adding: “Russians are also striking with the number of 420 new investors in 2022, an increase of 527 percent compared to 2021. Regarding the sectoral distribution of Russian investors, 77 stand out each as agriculture and IT, 73 real estate, 62 hotel accommodation facilities, 54 restaurants and entertainment services.

Antalya has 20,872 employees from 130 countries.

UKRAINIANS IN THE FIFTH RANK WITH 243 COMPANIES

Explaining that there was a significant increase in the number of Ukrainian investors with a rate of 155 percent due to the war, Öztürk stated that Ukrainians are in fifth place with a total of 243 companies, 74 of which were in 2022.

Explaining the sectoral distribution of Ukrainian companies, Öztürk said that 21 of them are agricultural, 18 of them are construction, 17 of them are cosmetics and personal care, advertising and fair services, SPA center and other entertainment services. sports.

THERE ARE 20 THOUSAND 872 INSURED EMPLOYEES FROM 130 COUNTRIES

In the number of insured foreign workers, Russians and Ukrainians were in the top five.

According to data from the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Social Security, there are 20,872 employees from 130 countries in the city.

Kyrgyz rank first with 4,190 people, Russians rank second with 3,316 people, Kazakhs rank third with 2,884 people, and Ukrainians rank fourth with 1,913 people.

On the other hand, promotional texts in Russian have increased significantly on billboards in many workplaces, especially in the Hurma and Liman neighborhoods, where Russians and Ukrainians live intensively.

In Hurma and Liman, there are many workplaces with Russian signs, such as private doctor’s offices, raw dumplings, real estate agents, beauty salons, phone and computer repair shops, car rentals, restaurants, cafes, tailors, and ready-made garments. made.

‘WE MUST CAREFULLY ANALYZE THE NEGATIVE SIDES’

Noting that there are negative views towards contractors and representatives of the real estate sector due to price increases, Öztürk drew attention to the constant increases in house prices due to input costs.

Öztürk said: “The negative aspects of these numbers must also be well analyzed” and continued as follows:

“Our state has serious duties not to create an opportunity in this situation, not put our citizens in difficulties to earn high income for a short time and not reduce their quality of life. Our State will take the necessary measures regarding the acquisition of property by foreigners and will eliminate the grievances of our own citizens. (DHA)
