Producers, traders and consumers in the Seydikemer district of Muğla complained about the high cost and low purchasing power.
The citizens said: “Now the period of buying 3 or 4 kilograms of fruit is over. Now we ask how much is half a kilo of the vegetables and fruits that we are going to buy, and we buy accordingly”.
Fatma Küçükkasap, the producer who said: “They say there is always diesel, gasoline ran out, but no one comes,” said: “He who despises the farmer will hardly see the food.”
CHP Muğla deputy Süleyman Girgin, who toured the neighborhood market with the CHP district organization, relayed the conversations with the traders to SÖZCÜ.
‘CAN YOU BUY A SAG OF FERTILIZER FOR A THOUSAND LIRA?’
Farmer Fatma Küçükkasap, who stated that the cabbage was too small because she could not add fertilizer, rebelled against buying a sack of fertilizer for a thousand lira, saying that without fertilizer there would be no crop, without crops there would be no farmers, and if there were no farmers, people would starve.
Producer Küçükkasap said: “We have a tree, we have a stone. Vegetables get small like this when you can’t fertilize them. These would be huge, it’s not happening. Is it possible to buy a sack of fertilizer for a thousand lire? Look, you’ll see, one day they won’t be able to see the farmer anymore.
Sellers will not be able to come, they will not be able to send products to the halo, everyone will put their hands on their chests and sit like this. All civil servants, the working class will starve. What if you have money? Food, food of the future. The farmer will work in the field. However, there is no one left to work. What are you going to eat at the market when you don’t come? Diesel, I forgot diesel, ”he said.

‘THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT MAKE ITS OWN PROFIT’
Farmer Küçükkasap opened his heart as if reflecting the problems of all farmers and told CHP’s Girgin:
“They say that in Turkey there is diesel and gasoline. Where is? Without coming, without going. Actually, not many people come. We are very defenseless from these. The state gives, but the state does not give its own profits.
Girgin’s ‘Can they hear your voice?’ He replied: “I don’t know, you will tell the person who comes. We will explain our problems to those who come, we will tell them, if they understand, they will understand. If they don’t understand, we’ll take grass and sell it like that. We’ll take care of that.”

Even in the district market of the Seydikemer district, which is one of the important centers of fruit and vegetable production, prices are not discussed. 1 kilo of tomatoes costs 25 TL, potatoes 4 kilos 50 TL, onions 15 TL, apples 15 TL, hibiscus 25 TL. Pointed pepper, capia and bell pepper cost 20 TL, cabbage seeds 15 TL.
