TrendyolGO employee couriers left their job in Istanbul
Today the second of the courier actions that began in Trendyol last year and resulted in the profit of the employees took place. TrendyolGO employee couriers left their jobs in Istanbul.
The couriers, protesting the amount of increase announced by the company, the unsafe/unhealthy work and the long working hours, headed to the company’s office in Alibeyköy, departing from different parts of Istanbul.
Couriers are also uncomfortable with their working conditions and hours.
While many couriers say that working 12-hour days has become the norm, they say they are forced to work in harsh conditions.
SOME POST REQUESTS
The couriers, who are also demanding that a button that corrects incorrect locations be added to the Trendyol app, are also demanding that an agreement be made with engine repair companies for them. Because there are too many accidents, all these expenses are paid by the couriers and they are wasting their time.
Penalties also apply to messengers who leave the system due to a malfunction. The messengers, who said that if this is proven, they should not be penalized, the messengers demanded that these amounts be deducted from their partial payments so that the messengers can eat from the stores.
THEY CHARGE ALL THE EXPENSES THEY HAVE
The main demand of the messengers, who also have educational demands, is the salary they receive.
The weekly earnings of a courier who travels an average of more than 2,500 kilometers for 12 hours without stopping is 4,530 TL, according to the figures suggested by the company.
This amount corresponds to 18 thousand 120 TL per month, but these post offices carry their own maintenance of engines, gasoline and diesel. They cover all their own expenses. When they think about it, their wages drop to the minimum wage level.
The messengers, for their part, demand an increase in the rates of increase in gasoline and the minimum wage.
EMPLOYEES EARNED LAST YEAR; THE ACTIONS WERE DISSEMINATED
On the other hand, last year, the contracted delivery companies who were self-employed at Trendyol launched contact closure actions in Istanbul to protest the 11 percent increase in their partial payments; These actions spread throughout the country.
Trendyol claimed that the partial payments of the employees do not stay below 10 thousand TL, while the employees claimed that when expenses are subtracted, they have 4 thousand TL.
Trendyol Express employee actions paid off; The salaries of the contracted delivery drivers were increased by 39 percent and it was indicated that their total monthly partial payments would be 12,500 TL + VAT.
Despite the rising cost of living, the low price hikes created a wave of action in many sectors.
The process, which began with the messengers of the merchants, spread to the textile, food and retail sectors.
