Institution Minister: Credit will be opened in second-hand homes
Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, answered questions from members of the press after the Cabinet Meeting held at the Presidential Complex.
Recalling the institution’s statement on second-hand homes, the institution said: “Our priority right now is; On the one hand, our citizens who will buy their first home become owners, on the other hand, to increase the supply of new homes, to increase the production of employment. That is, running them all simultaneously.
We will also work to support the second hand. But there is no concrete work yet at this stage,” he said.
‘DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING IN THE SHORT TERM’
Regarding when the second-hand housing campaign will be launched, the institution has said that “do not expect anything in the short term; but over time, we’re working to provide second-hand support as well. After all, we produce solutions using all the tools at our disposal. We have introduced a limitation on rent. We said, ‘We’re going to support low-income people.’ We did a big campaign on low income.
We said, ‘We’re going to support the middle-income’; we launched a campaign adapted to the new financing model for middle-income people who are going to buy their first home and will buy their new home; Here it is 0.69 up to 2 million, 0.79 between 2 and 4 million, 0.99 between 4 and 5 million. Our priority here; The people who will buy their first home are the people who will buy their new home,” he said.
‘THE SECOND HOUSE WILL NOT HAVE SUPPORT LIKE THE FIRST HOUSE’
Pointing out that there should not be a campaign like the first house in second-hand houses, the Institution said: “Why? After all, the first house is the new house. So we provide accommodation here. On the other hand, we support middle-income people who are going to buy their first home. The reason why we didn’t do this to the second homes at the beginning of the campaign is that we want to increase production, so that employment and production increase.
Therefore, any work to be carried out in second-hand homes or upper-middle-class homes will not have the same support. In other words, we will not be able to apply the support that we will apply to those who will buy second-hand houses. But will it open, will it open? But there is a campaign or a loan interest support, here is the support of the Treasury, it is not a job that can be done with the support of contractors. Because there are no contractors.
On the other hand, we want to ‘increase production’, we want to ‘guarantee’. Therefore, it will be possible for them to obtain loans. They can’t now. That is really the problem. As a result, we will work to support the second hand over time,” he said.
‘THE COMMISSION THAT WILL BE ESTABLISHED WILL FOLLOW THE PRICES OF THE HOUSE’
Minister Institution, ‘After the campaign, are there increases in housing prices?’ He responded to the question as follows:
“We said we would not allow this. What did we say when we announced the ‘New Home’ campaign? We have released the criteria for those who will buy their first home. We also said that we will establish a commission for the transparent and auditable operation of the entire process.
We established that commission. We are establishing a commission that includes representatives from our Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Capital Markets Board, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, and valuation institutions. This commission will carry out technical and financial audits, will follow the prices determined by the companies, and here the main criteria will be the expert reports.
That is, whatever the price of the house that sold this month or the house that sold a week ago, it will be included in the campaign according to that price” (DHA)
