Despite the decline in natural gas production, TPAO crude oil production increased in the same period. TPAO, which produced 1.8 million tons of crude in 2018, increased this production in the following years to 2.6 million tons in 2021. The Court of Auditors determined that with the change made in its main status in 2017, the TPAO’s offshore drilling activities ended and activities carried out with 4 deepwater drillships owned by TPAO were not in accordance with their main status. Noting that within the scope of the protocol signed between TPAO and TPIC, the ships and maritime activities must be transferred in their entirety to TPIC, the Court of Auditors has determined that there has been no progress in this regard.
