Survey of the Ministry of Commerce: Expectations fell in exports, increased in imports
The Ministry of Commerce announced the Survey of Foreign Trade Expectations for the first quarter of 2023.
Thus, the export expectations index decreased 12.1 points in this period compared to the previous quarter.
The index, which was at 108.1 in the fourth quarter of last year, fell to 96 in the first quarter of this year. The index decreased 19.8 points compared to the same period of the previous year.
Assessments regarding the export expectation for the next 3 months, the export order expectation, the level of export orders currently recorded, and the level of export orders in the last 3 months affected the index in a direction to the short.
ORDER LEVEL AFFECTED
The import expectations index for the first quarter of this year, for its part, increased 12.4 points compared to the last quarter of the previous year and went to 126.1. The index increased 7.3 points compared to the same period of the previous year.
The import expectation index for the next 3 months, the import unit price expectation for the next 3 months, and the evaluations for the import order level question in the last 3 months increased, while the import level question currently registered import order decreased. (AA)
