Kamu-Sen Public Increase Request

Kamu-Sen Public Increase Request

In a written statement on the increase in civil servants, Turkey’s President Kamu-Sen Önder Kahveci recalled that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan yesterday announced a 25 percent increase in the salaries and pensions of civil servants, stating that they made a request, mainly through social networks, to increase this rate.

EXPECTATIONS NOT MET

Recalling that President Erdoğan today announced the new 30 percent increase rate in Turkey’s Grand National Assembly, Kahveci said:

“In the pronouncement made today by the Honorable President, an important step was taken by increasing the salary increase rate to 30 percent, but it did not meet the expectations of public employees.

At this point, raising wages for public employees and retirees will be the right approach in terms of eliminating wage injustice and lost income.” (AA)
