Producer inflation continues to fall in the Eurozone
The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published the data of the Producer Price Index (PPI) for November for the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone.
Consequently, the PPI in the EU decreased by 0.9 percent in November compared to the previous month and increased by 27.4 percent compared to November 2021.
In the euro zone, on the other hand, the PPI decreased 0.9 percent monthly in November and increased 27.1 percent annually. Market expectations were for the PPI to rise 27.5 percent annually.
In August, the eurozone PPI rose 43.3 percent on-year, reaching the highest level since records began. In September there was an increase of 41.4 percent compared to September 2021.
In October, the annual increase rate of the PPI in the Euro Zone was 30.8 percent.
THE LARGEST INCREASE IN HUNGARY
In said period, producer prices in the Euro Zone increased by 55.7 percent annually in the energy sector.
Among EU countries, the PPI increased the most in Hungary at 63.5%, Latvia at 51.2% and Romania at 44.8% annually in November.
The annual PPI was determined to be 29 percent in Germany, 35.7 percent in Italy, 20.7 percent in Spain, and 21.5 percent in France. (AA)
