CITY SPECIAL INCENTIVE PACKAGE PROPOSAL

ITO President Şekib Avdagic, whose views were included in the statement, made 3 suggestions to encourage Istanbul.

Stating that a special incentive package should be prepared for the city, Avdagiç said, “A special incentive is provided for Istanbul in order to intensively support technological development, value-added increase, capacity expansion, compliance of the green deal, environment and sustainability. -themed investments of existing industrial facilities in Istanbul “The package would be very appropriate,” he said.

‘WE NEED TO PROTECT PURCHASING POWER’

Stating that his second proposal is the “regional minimum wage,” Avdagic said:

“We believe that the minimum wage should be determined regionally, just like Turkey is divided into regions in terms of investment incentives.

The minimum wage in Istanbul should not be the same as the minimum wage in the 5-6 incentive region. Because in a city where the demand is so high together with the density of national and foreign population, it is necessary to protect the purchasing power of employees and the competitiveness of our companies. In particular, issues such as accommodation and transportation provided by two or three vehicles increase the burden of the minimum wage.

APPLICATION FOR A LOAN SUPPORTED BY KGF

Third, Avdagiç applied for KGF-backed loans to companies in Istanbul, saying, “It would be beneficial to carry out a KGF-backed Istanbul region-specific loan study under different headings such as rental support package, staff support, commercial support package. . Furthermore, considering the high rental prices in Istanbul, it would be beneficial to introduce a regional rental tax withholding rate and apply a discount to this rate in Istanbul. (AA)
