Publication of the National Energy Plan of Turkey
The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has published the National Energy Plan of Turkey covering the period 2020-2035.
According to the scenario of the plan published by the Ministry, primary energy consumption will reach 205.3 million tons of oil equivalent and 510.4 terawatt hours of electricity consumption in this period.
According to the National Energy Plan scenario, the share of electrical energy in final energy consumption will increase to 24.9 percent, while energy intensity will decrease by 35.3 percent.
Total installed electrical power will reach 189.7 gigawatts, solar power will reach 52.9 gigawatts, wind power will increase to 29.6 gigawatts, and nuclear power will reach 7.2 gigawatts.
PARTICIPATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN ELECTRICITY GENERATION
The projected capacity to be put into service is calculated at 96.9 gigawatts.
The share of intermittent renewable energy sources in electricity generation will increase to 34.2%, the share of renewable energy sources to 54.7%, the share of intermittent energy sources to 43.5% and the share of renewable energy sources to 64.7%.
To meet the flexibility requirement, the battery capacity will reach 7.5 gigawatts, the electrolyzer capacity will reach 5 gigawatts, and the demand side share will reach 1.7 gigawatts. (AA)
