“ALL COUNTRIES SEE THEIR STRENGTHS AND DEFICIENCIES”

Minister Muş said that events in the world caused prices due to the epidemic and the war between Ukraine and Russia, saying:

* “The world has entered a completely different phase. When they compared them all, all the countries saw their strengths and weaknesses. Now I would like to share with you some figures about Turkey. Propaganda is being made at different times, from different quarters. Now, in such an environment, it is necessary to evaluate Turkey’s steps and achievements.

* Turkey is not stable, it is a country that has a lot of trade volumes with the countries around it. Turkey is taking these steps under unstable conditions. This year we will have reached the export target that we set ourselves last year in Turkey. The final figures will be announced on Tuesday, January 2 with the participation of the President. Therefore, it will have achieved record figures that Turkey has not experienced both in exports of goods and services. We have an export target placing it above these figures, not behind them.”

“TURKEY DID NOT COMMIT TO THE BUDGET DEFICIT”

Minister Muş, noting that Turkey provides the inflow of foreign exchange by producing, noted that it provides foreign exchange by selling goods and services. Stating that investments based on hot money can come and enter the stock market, Muş stressed that they do not consider very short daily weekly entries as a very correct investment. Explaining that Turkey is progressing to the level of meeting the criteria set by the European Union, Minister Muş emphasized that despite all conditions, Turkey does not commit to the budget deficit, saying:

* “However, we do not consider such short daily weekly entries as a very correct investment. So we don’t want a lot. When it comes to truly predictable long-term investments, it contributes to the country’s economy. We are currently receiving these investments. When we look at Turkey’s public debt stock, the EU-defined debt stock is 39 percent. The European average is around 95 percent. Their average is double ours.

* Household debt is 13 percent. We are among the countries with the lowest rate. When we look at Europe, this figure is much higher. In some countries, we see figures reaching 100 percent. Turkey’s budget deficit is at a reasonable level. We are going to levels that meet the criteria set by the European Union. Despite all these conditions, Turkey did not commit to its budget deficit.

“THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE TURKISH ECONOMY”

Trade Minister Muş stated that there is no problem in the foundations of Turkey’s economy, that the Turkish banking sector is working well, and that Turkey is experiencing the inflation experienced by the world. Emphasizing that inflation will tend to decrease next year, Muş stated that it will be fully under control by 2024, saying:

* “By 2024, inflation will be completely under control. The figures show that Turkey’s economy is indeed on a solid footing and that investments can be made. You can trust the economy of our country. You can make your investments comfortably. Everyone has problems in the world.

* There are energy related issues but our government is taking various steps to overcome this and will continue to be taken. We have not caused any of our industrialists in Turkey to have energy related supply problems. Turkey’s achievement of the target it has set motivates us to reach new targets in the coming period.”

After the speeches, the Gaziantep industrialists received their awards. (DHA)
