WILL THE MINIMUM WAGE BE INTERMEDIATE?
The statements of President Erdogan, who made provisional explanations possible in case the minimum wage melts, are as follows;
– This month, we will witness a rapid decline in inflation rates. We are determined to reduce inflation to 30 percent by mid-year and 20 percent by the end of the year. We ask everyone, from all walks of life, to do their math in accordance with this goal. If we come across an unexpected situation, we don’t hesitate to make an intermediate adjustment like we did last year. As a management that has increased the income and well-being of our workers, we do not allow anyone’s rights to be lost. We exist for our nation.
– We are taking steps on the minimum wage with this sentiment. We have agreed on a net minimum wage of 8,500 TL in 2023, hopefully. The minimum wage has a reflection on both the employer and us. A 50 percent increase was achieved, and the average annual rate of increase exceeded 70 percent. I want the new minimum wage to be beneficial for our country and nation, especially for employees and employers.
