Customs sanctions increase
The amount of the penalty for irregularity and the salary for overtime applied to those who violate the Customs Law and the legislation that supports it was increased, at the revaluation rate determined at 122.93 percent.
The General Customs Statement prepared by the Ministry of Commerce was published in the Official Gazette.
With the Communiqué, some amounts provided for in the Customs Law and the respective regulations were increased at the revaluation rate calculated at 122.93 percent.

Consequently, the penalties for irregularity specified in the Customs Law and Regulation will be 523 lira as of January 1, 2023.
On the other hand, the amounts in the Customs Regulations were also modified.
The customs overtime charge was determined at 48.67 lira for exports, 113.67 lira for other transactions, 113.67 lira for exports per truck for trucks with Turkish registration and 178.66 lira for other transactions.
Customs monetary limits, regional foreign trade directorates and the return or elimination of customs duties by the Ministry were also increased.
