TESK request to regulate merchants’ pension

TESK request to regulate merchants’ pension

The President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Bendevi Palandöken, requested that the pension problems of traders be included in the regulation on the retirement age (EYT).

Palandoken, in its written statement, indicated that the necessary meetings were held to put the merchants and artisans on the agenda within the scope of the EYT agreement, which is still ongoing.

Stating that they are waiting for the relevant authorities to assess the demands of their communities, Palandöken said: “Our merchants and artisans must be included in the regulations that are made regarding EYT, and the way must be paved for our merchants to they retire.”

‘MUST FILL 9 THOUSAND DAYS’

Palandöken demanded that the problems experienced by tradesmen and artisans in social security be resolved, saying:

“While the storekeeper worker retires with 7,200 days of premium, our storekeepers have to cover 9,000 days. Our merchants who pay the highest premiums receive the lowest wages. The pensions of our merchants must also be regulated.

On the other hand, complaints continue from those who registered with the tax office or the chamber of commerce before 2000 but did not register in Bağ-Kur.

In the new EYT regulation these problems of our merchants and artisans must be solved. We demand that the rights of our merchants, who have lost so far, be included in the works within the scope of the EYT regulation, and that they be resolved in a manner compatible with equity”. (AA)
