Elon Musk is about to lose his title as the richest person in the world
Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is the richest person in the world, is about to lose this title to the French billionaire. The famous billionaire fell to second place on Forbes’ “Real-Time Billionaires” list for a short while yesterday.
Frenchman Bernard Arnault, who produces luxury goods, briefly outperformed Musk yesterday. According to Forbes, as of now, Musk’s fortune is around $185.4 billion. Arnault’s net worth is estimated at $184.7 billion.
THE DIFFERENCE IS CLOSED
In Forbes’ assessment, “The fortune of two billionaires is almost the same. There is only a difference of a few hundred million dollars. “So it won’t be surprising if Forbes continues to rank it among the richest people in the world.”
The richest people in the world according to Forbes
Shares of Arnault’s company LVMH, which also includes brands such as Louis Vuitton and Hennessy, have been mostly flat this year. However, Musk-owned Tesla shares lost 56 percent in 2022, causing the gap between the two billionaires to close. Musk also sold a large amount of Tesla stock to buy Twitter this year.
Forbes also said that this development was due to the “dramatic drop in Tesla’s stock price.” According to Forbes, Musk’s wealth peaked at $320 billion in November 2021.
INDIAN BILLIONAIRE IN THE THIRD PLACE
Third on the list is Indian billionaire Gautam Adani. Adani’s net worth is around $135.6 billion. In fourth place is Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, with a fortune of 111.8 billion dollars.
In the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk ranks first with a net worth of $179 billion, while Arnault ranks second with a net worth of $165 billion. Bloomberg’s list is updated every day after the market closes.
However, the results on the two lists may differ due to differences in calculation methods and difficulties in calculating the value of investments such as SpaceX and Musk-owned Neuralink.
