Declaration of minimum wage of the Minister of Labor

Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, made further statements regarding the minimum wage.

Stating that the minimum wage rate is 37 percent, Bilgin said: “When we raise the minimum wage, real wages adjust again. Therefore, I would like to point out that we follow a minimum wage policy that drives the average up.”

RESPONSE TO THE CRITICISM ‘THE MINIMUM WAGE IS THE BASIC WAGE’

He spoke at the 28th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of Turkish Employers’ Unions (TİSK) held at the ATO Congress with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In response to criticism that the minimum wage is the basic wage in Turkey, Bilgin said:

“The minimum wage policy that we implemented last year under the leadership of our president is extremely important. There is a criticism that ‘the minimum wage has become the base salary’. This is a criticism based on ignorance.

When we raise the minimum wage, real wages adjust. Therefore, I would like to point out that we follow a minimum wage policy that moves the average up.”

Emphasis on ‘free unionism’

Noting that worker-employer cooperation parallels the democratization of Turkey, Bilgin stressed that as Turkey democratizes, free trade unionism, free trade union struggle, labor struggle and worker-employer peace can be built on real foundations. .

Stating that the presidential system is a historic step in Turkey’s democratization process, seen from this perspective, Bilgin said: “There is no longer any element of guardianship that threatens Turkey. What Turkey must achieve is to walk into the future by strengthening national unity against external attacks and building social and social peace with our unions, employees and employers.

TİSK: THE MINIMUM FEE IS A BASE FEE, IT SHOULD BE REASONABLE

On the other hand, Özgür Burak Akkol, President of the Turkish Confederation of Employers’ Associations (TİSK), who spoke at the same meeting, also made statements on the minimum wage.
