Contractors received 10 billion dollars from projects abroad in 11 months
The amount of projects undertaken by Turkey’s foreign contracting sector in the 11-month period of this year was approximately USD 10 billion.
According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, from 1972 to the end of November of this year, the foreign contracting sector undertook 11,405 projects in 132 countries for a value of 463,300 million dollars.
Despite severe political instability, cyclical issues, and the effects of the Kovid-19 outbreak in target countries in 2020, the sector received 364 jobs worth $16.1 billion.
Last year, in parallel with the decrease in the negative impact of the epidemic on the world economy, the total cost of projects undertaken by companies abroad reached 30.5 billion dollars. The number of projects carried out during this period was recorded at 430.
The number of projects carried out by the sector in the 11-month period of this year was 258, and the total cost of the project was approximately 9.836 billion dollars. The average cost of the projects carried out this year was calculated at 38 million 125 thousand dollars.
RUSSIA AND TURKMENISTAN CLASSIFY THE FIRST TWO
Although Russia ranks first with a 20.6 percent share in the distribution of projects carried out abroad by contractor companies since 1972, so far projects worth 95.624 million dollars per country have been carried out in the country. .
Turkmenistan followed Russia with a 10.8 percent share. The amount of projects carried out in this country has exceeded 50 billion dollars. Iraq ranked third with a 6.9 percent share and a $32.124 million project undertaken. These countries were followed by Libya, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia.
When looking at the areas where the most projects have been carried out to date, it can be seen that housing and residence projects occupy the first place with a participation of 13.9%. The cost of housing projects was 64 thousand 555 million dollars.
Housing projects were followed by roads, tunnels and bridges with a participation of 13.3% and a project value of 61 thousand 511 million dollars.
33.9 BILLION DOLLARS SHOPPING CENTER PROJECT
The energy sector ranked third among the works carried out abroad with a share of 8.5 percent. The amount of projects undertaken by this sector has so far reached 39 thousand 223 million dollars.
To date, the contractors have carried out foreign trade center projects for a value of 33 thousand 995 million dollars and airport projects for a value of 30 thousand 413 million dollars.
On the other hand, in the list of the 250 largest contractor companies in the world, which ENR magazine determines each year based on the total cost of international projects carried out in the last year, Turkey took its place with only 8 contractor companies in 2003. , while this year it was presented with 42 signatures.
8 of these companies in the 2022 issue of the magazine were among the top 100 companies on the aforementioned list, while 2 Turkish companies entered the top 50. Turkey ranks second after China in terms of the number of companies on the list. (AA)
