CMB Shareholder Statement
The 6th Turkish Capital Markets Congress, organized by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TSPB) this year, was held in Istanbul today with the theme “Beyond Finance: Investing in the World’s Future”. At the congress, CMB Chairman İbrahim Ömer Gönül made assessments on the latest developments in the capital markets.
In his speech, Ömer Gönül referred to the statement by Erdemoğlu Holding’s Chairman of the Board, İbrahim Erdemoğlu, that they did not understand the reason why the share price of Borsa Istanbul-listed SASA Polyester increased from 60 lira to 180 lira in a short time, and he said:
“WE NEVER LOOK HOT”
*We never favor company owners talking about stock prices, especially in critical situations. We do not approve of business owners and senior officials making such statements on social media, in the press, or on television.
* We have already investigated such statements in the past. We will follow it closely from now on.
“WE FOLLOW EVERY SHARE MOVEMENT THAT CALLS ATTENTION”
*We closely follow the movement of the markets. We have daily reports. We track them for every stock movement, for every notable stock movement. Why did this stock go up or down?
*All of these are monitored by our monitoring committee. A serious team works here, a serious technology works. Of course, its reinspection and preparation of the infrastructure is a certain process. If there really is an illegal act and we detect it, it will be sanctioned.
“WE DO NOT MIX THE PRICE”
* We do not interfere with the price. The price is not important to us. Is the realization of this price real, was it oriented to supply and demand, or was there another business behind it, was an artificial market created, was it manipulated? we look at it We have legislative proposals and studies on manipulations from social networks.
