Contractors Association: Our businesses don’t have to survive

Erdal Eren, President of the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB), said that a proper solution could not be provided to the public contractors regarding the high increase in the costs of inputs and no new projects meeting the necessary supply were implemented. in the housing sector.

Eren said, “Our companies, who are trying to complete their projects with loans all over Anatolia, no longer have the ability to survive under the current load,” Eren said, adding, “We hope our government will take action to resolve the issues. of both public contractors and the housing sector by 2023”.

‘THE CONSTRUCTION IS 5 ROOMS’

Eren evaluated the growth figures for the third quarter of this year, announced by TURKSTAT, with his written statement.

Stating that the construction sector has shrunk for 5 consecutive quarters, Eren said, “The 14.1 percent contraction in the sector points to major problems. Our industry has been contracting for 5 consecutive quarters with increasing rates since Q3 2021.”

Eren said: “To return to growth, it is necessary to revive construction investments and solve the chronic problem of rising input costs.”
