Late invoices hit record

ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBERS
According to the information provided by Akın, a total of 730,701 subscribers, of which 553,917 were residential subscribers, were unable to pay their bills in the billing period of January 2022. Reflecting the increase in bills , a total of 1 million 39 thousand 646 subscribers, of which 859 thousand 532 were residential subscribers, could not pay their bills in the period of February 2022. After the exorbitant increase, the number of residential subscribers who had difficulty paying their bills increased by 55.1 percent. In the March 2022 billing period, a total of 1,245,391 subscribers, of which 987,453 were residential subscribers, were unable to pay their bills. Akin said:
After the largest rise in electricity in the history of the Republic, the number of residential subscribers who had difficulties paying their bills increased 78.2 percent in two months. Across all subscriber groups, it was 70.4 percent overall.”
The increase in industrial subscribers was 185 percent.
Energy The price increases affected the industry the most. In the period in which controlled power cuts were also carried out, the number of industrial subscribers who could not pay their bills on time went from 1,584 to 4,519, increasing by 185.3 percent. This rate was 89.9 percent in agricultural irrigation subscribers.
