The demand of the merchants to increase the incentives in the obligatory traffic insurance

Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) President Bendevi Palandöken stated that it is a pleasure to add 2 more steps to the price levels in traffic insurance, saying, “The steps of traffic insurance should be further expanded and the 50 percent incentive rate should be increased for drivers who do not have a penalty.”

Pointing out that it is positive to add 2 more steps to the price levels with the system of dynamic steps in the compulsory traffic insurance from January 1, 2023, Palandöken made the assessment that “significant discounts should be made in the compulsory insurance of drivers who have not had an accident in 5-10 years, so traffic accidents will decrease”.

Palandoken affirmed that when calculating traffic insurance premiums, the price increase is made according to the sanction score, and it is a fair practice to give a discount for those who do not have a sanction.

‘THE NUMBER OF QUOTAS SHOULD BE INCREASED’

On the other hand, Palandöken pointed out that the mandatory traffic insurance rates, which increase monthly and yearly due to inflation, force low-income citizens, saying: “Drivers who will purchase insurance for the first time cannot benefit from the discount because his history of traffic accidents is not yet clear. Palandöken mentioned that both insurance companies and banks need to reintroduce the installment payment opportunity provided in the past: “The number of installment payments, which was 3-4 in the past, should definitely increase.
