EU car sales continued to rise for the 14th month
The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) announced new car registration data for EU countries for September.
According to the data, sales of new cars in EU countries increased by 9.2 percent last month compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 861 thousand 62. Thus, while the European car market has exceeded supply chain problems, car sales in EU countries have continued to increase over the past 14 months.
34.1 PERCENT IS GASOLINE
In terms of fuel types, gasoline vehicles remained popular in September.
Of the new cars sold in EU countries in September, 34.1 percent were petrol, 27.3 were hybrid, 12.7 were diesel, 14.8 were fully electric, 8.2 They were plug-in hybrids and 2.8 percent ran on other fuels.
It should be noted that the proportion of diesel vehicles, which accounted for 15.9 percent last year, decreased to 12.7 percent in September.
Sales of electric cars increased 14.3 percent in September compared to the same period last year, reaching 127,149.
INCREASE IN ALL MARKETS EXCEPT HUNGARY
Car sales have increased since the beginning of the year in all markets except Hungary in September. Car sales increased in September by 15.9 percent in France, 14.5 percent in Germany, 18.5 percent in Spain and 20.5 percent in Italy compared to the same period of the year past.
On the other hand, new vehicle registrations in the union member countries increased by 16.9 percent in January-September 2023 compared to the same period last year, reaching 8 million. (AA)
