Car production decreased in August

The Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced data for the first 8 months of 2023.

Automotive industry production decreased by 21.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 73,020 units. In the same month last year, production was 92,625 units. In the first 8 months, total production increased 13 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 943,609 units.

Automobile production in Turkey increased by 21 percent compared to the first eight months of last year, reaching 599,915 units. With the production of tractors, total production increased to 981 thousand 897 units.

EXPORTS INCREASED IN THE FIRST 8 MONTHS

In the first 8 months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, total automobile exports increased by 11 percent in terms of units, while the increase in automobile exports was 26 percent.

During this period, total exports were 656,750 units and automobile exports were 425,934 units.

In the 8-month period of 2023, the total market increased 63 percent compared to the same period last year, closing at 788,197 units. During this period, the car market also increased by 64 percent and reached 582,419 units.
