Best-selling automotive brands announced in the first 6 months of 2023
According to data from the Association of Automotive and Mobility Dealers (ODMD), total sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 55.3 percent in the period January-June 2023, reaching 555,867 units. This figure was recorded as the highest number of sales of all time.
In said period, automobile sales increased 54.5 percent to 429,870 units, while light commercial vehicle sales increased 58.2 percent to 125,997 units.
Auto sales rose 53.8 percent, auto sales 57.2 percent and light commercial sales 40.8 percent compared with the 10-year average sales in June.
TOP 5 IN THE TOTAL MARKET
According to the information compiled from the ODMD report, Fiat ranked first in the first half of the year, with 101,167 units in passenger and light commercial sales. Fiat was followed by Renault with 58,705 units and Ford with 50,803 sales.
Peugeot was fourth with 40,892 sales and Volkswagen was fifth with 39,718 sales.
CAR SALES
Fiat was the brand that sold the most cars in the January-June period with 70,160.
Fiat was followed by Renault with 51,905 sales and Opel with 31,999 sales.
Volkswagen ranks fourth with 31,321 sales, while Peugeot ranks fifth with 30,726 car sales.
LUXURY CARS
With the addition of Togg and Leapmotor to the ODMD brand list, the number of brands increased to 48. All brands except Smart were sold in the first half.
Togg sales were listed at 306 units, with the note “June sales to be announced later.”
625 Porsche, 307 Maserati, 259 Lexus, 68 Jaguar, 16 Bentley, 14 Aston Martin, 12 Ferrari and 8 Lamborghini were sold in the luxury car group in the first half of the year.
TOP 5 IN LIGHT COMMERCIAL
As for the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford was at the top of the list with 36,928 sales in that period. Ford was followed by Fiat with 31,07 sales and Peugeot with 10,166 sales.
Citroen was fourth with 10,071 sales and Volkswagen was fifth with 8,397 sales. (AA)
