Tesla cuts prices in the United States for the third time this year
US electric car maker Tesla has cut prices for the third time this year to boost demand for the two most expensive EV models in the US.
According to the price lists on the company’s website, Tesla has discounted the prices of the Model S and Model X by $5,000.
The base version of the Model S is priced at $84,990, while the price of the Model X has been reduced to $94,990.
The prices of the sporty Model 3 and Model Y base trims have also been reduced by $1,000 and $2,000, respectively. The price of the Model 3 was $41,990, and the price of the Model Y sport version was $49,990.

Tesla cut prices in the US and Europe to boost sales in January and March.
By cutting prices in China earlier this year, Tesla also sparked a price-cutting race in the world’s largest electric vehicle market.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk declared on March 1, Investor Day, that even small changes in price have a big impact on demand.
The US company delivered 422,875 vehicles worldwide in the first quarter. Last year, it fell short of the 50 percent annual increase target, with vehicle deliveries up 40 percent. (AA)
