New car sales in Europe increased by 16.3% in November
The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) announced new car registration data for EU countries for November.
Thus, sales of new cars, which in November of last year were 713,273, increased 16.3 percent in the same period of 2022 and reached 829,527. Compared to the same period of the previous year, car sales between EU countries increased by 31.4 percent in Germany, 14.7 percent in Italy, 10.3 percent in Spain and 9.8 percent in France.
Among the 27 EU member states, Germany had the most new cars in November. During this period, 260,512 new cars were registered in Germany, 133,960 in France, 119,853 in Italy and 73,221 in Spain.
6.1 PERCENTAGE OF DECREASE IN THE JANUARY-NOVEMBER PERIOD
New vehicle registrations in the EU decreased by 6.1 percent in January-November 2022 compared to the same period a year earlier, and fell to 8,359,317.
According to manufacturers, VW Group sold the most new cars in the EU in November with 208,177.
Stellantis Group trailed VW Group in new vehicle sales in the EU. The Stellantis Group, which includes brands such as Peugeot, Fiat, Citroen and Opel, sold a total of 149,979 cars.
The Renault Group ranked third with 88,178 new cars, while the Hyundai Group ranked fourth with 68.12 vehicles. (AA)
