Clash at the second-hand car sale! cut like a knife
The open car market in Rami was one of the most active places for buying and selling vehicles until a while ago. Recently, there has been a downturn in the Rami Open Auto Market. While those who come to buy a vehicle have difficulty finding a car that fits their budget, those who come to sell their vehicles do not find a buyer. The car market, which is packed on weekends, was empty this weekend.
“NO MOVEMENT FOR 15 DAYS”
Hakan Çukurova, who came to sell her vehicle, said: “The market is very stagnant, we cannot sell vehicles. Most of the places here have already been taken over by galleries. I arrived at 06.30 am, I came with my personal vehicle. I put it on the internet and couldn’t sell it there,” he said.
Altuğ Pakman, a car salesman, said: “There has been no movement for 15 days. This is also due to the season, but of course it is also due to the economy. There haven’t been any for the last week. Syrians have also started to change cities and are selling their cars. People are waiting for the fall, there will be no decline, there will be stagnation. At best, gallery owners give up their profits and sell at the price they bought, but we don’t expect a decline.”
“I LOOK AT A 280 THOUSAND LIRA CAR BUT THERE IS NO”
Engin Ulukaya, who came to buy a car, said: “I came last week, I couldn’t find a vehicle in the condition I was looking for. 350-400 thousand lira vehicles are 500-550 thousand lira. It is said on TV and on social networks that prices are falling, but there is no decrease in the market at the moment. I am looking for a vehicle in the range of 300-350 thousand liras, they want 85 thousand liras for a vehicle model 93-95. “I don’t know how to buy a vehicle in these conditions,” he said.
Hasan Topçu said: “I am looking for a car, the prices are high, I want to get a loan, the loan is also high. Prices are not clear, for example, 5-6 months ago, prices were more affordable. I am looking for a car worth 260-280 thousand lire, but there is none. If I can get a loan, I will buy a car,” he said.
“OUR BUSINESS HAS FALLEN A LOT”
Salesman Erdal Avşar said: “Speeches stop or speed up our sales. There is currently a pause. The exchange rates are increasing at the moment, this increase will be reflected in the vehicles, so I don’t think the prices will go down in the next few days. For example, we would not give a car that we bought for 350 thousand lire to 300 thousand. He used to be very active. I was selling 30-35 vehicles a month, I can’t sell half of them right now. I made a sale last week. Our business is very low,” he said.
SEPTEMBER 15 FURIA DE CAR GALLERY
Meanwhile, as of September 15, the 6 months and 6 thousand kilometers will be mandatory for those who exchange vehicles. As such, car dealers with new cars have taken action and are trying to get rid of their vehicles until September 15.
Esat Aydın, owner of the car showroom, said: “We have 2 new vehicles at the moment. We are currently trying to sell vehicles. The market is stagnant, there is a general recession. After September 15 we cannot afford not to sell these vehicles, we have to sell them, we are negotiating. We plan to drive the vehicle 6 thousand kilometers, obey the law and sell that vehicle. We have reduced prices by 100 thousand lira at the moment, but there is no demand,” he said. (DHA)
