TOGG Statement by Minister Varank
Industry and Technology Minister Varank made assessments of the agenda in a live broadcast he attended. Stating that the construction of the campus where the mass production of Togg will take place has been completed, Varank stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will present the first vehicle to roll off the mass production line to citizens on Saturday.
Stating that there is a process of getting “type approval” on early production vehicles, Varank said the vehicles will start selling if they pass such approvals or no upgrades are required.
Noting that his target date in terms of sales is the first quarter of 2023, Varank said: “The company’s goal for 2023 is to produce 17-18 thousand vehicles and put them on the market. At the moment, trial production is underway. On October 29, we will have held the factory closing ceremony and the start of mass production. These days have been reached by strictly following the calendar announced by the company”. he said.
“THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A STANDING REQUEST”
Varank stated that they do not want the country’s national projects to become the stuff of politics and that they see the Turkish Automobile Project as a project that will lead the country into a new era in the automobile industry.
Stating that they have supported the project from the beginning, Varank said:
* Frankly, we think that we should invite CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and IYI Party Chairman Meral Akşener to this project, which everyone is watching with pride. We not only invite them but also the deputies to this ceremony. We wanted them to come and experience this pride together and see it, but the attitude they show is not nice.
* At this point, of course, I checked with the company and sent the invitations on my behalf. Company officials said: ‘Minister, it would be more elegant to send you as Minister of Industry and Technology.’ he said he. In this sense, we send you an invitation with the logo of both the Ministry and the company and my signature.
* There is no political side to this issue, but I think you can see it as political. Because there were statements by Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu before. They explained: “They introduced a vehicle, when will they produce this vehicle, you know, this vehicle.” If he cannot afford an invitation from the Minister of Industry and Technology, he should not go to the ministries.
As for the words of CHP deputy chairman and party spokesman Faik Öztrak, “if the invitation came from the company’s management, we would gladly attend, we would have applauded the first vehicle to roll off the mass production line”, and said: “After this time, why should the company management invite? Discussions like this overshadow this. In fact, they give a standing ovation. Because to be able to implement such a project in such a short time…” (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB )
